Running with the wind

I will not escape myself
I will not walk away
I will not run and hide
I will not hold my breath
I will not get too busy
I will not numb my nerves
I will not oppress this body
I will not stop my breath
I will not clench my jaw
I will not hold my words
I will not ignore my heart
I will endure the pain to look
With eyes wide open
I will choose to listen deeply to what I hear
My bones speak
My feet ache with miles and miles
My body a mark of everything I have lived
My mind so strong that I can shove it all down and look away
What a power
My feet ache with miles and miles of searching for the way
And I cannot escape myself
However bad I may want to run
I am the human being, I am the one
I live the life my ancestors spun
So I will not look away
what is it all worth
if I cannot stay?
